About Maya:
Maya Flores is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Houston. She is double majoring in Psychology and Interpreting and Translation (ASL-English) with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. Her research interests are in developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience with a focus on child development. Maya was previously an undergraduate RA with a lab focused on early experiences and development in premature children and is also the current Secretary of the PAIR UH Chapter (the Partnership for the Advancement and Immersion of Refugees), a university chapter of PAIR Houston, an organization that focuses on educational mentoring programs for refugee students in middle and high school in the Houston area. Outside of research, Maya enjoys learning different languages, horror movies, a variety of music, and spending time with her two adopted cats Sage and June.
